Abstract:   (145 Views)
The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of solution-focused therapy on marital conflicts and psychological cohesion in couples with distressed relationships who attended counseling centers. The research method was a quasi-experimental design of the pre-test and post-test type with a control group. The statistical population of this study consisted of all couples with distressed relationships visiting counseling centers in Tehran in 2024. Using accessible sampling, 30 individuals were selected and randomly divided into an intervention group receiving solution-focused therapy training and a control group. Data collection was based on the Marital Conflicts Questionnaire (Sanaei et al., 2008) and the Psychological Cohesion Scale (Kimiaei et al., 2013). Multivariate analysis of covariance was used to control for pre-test effects, utilizing SPSS software. The results indicated that the solution-focused therapy training method led to a reduction in marital conflicts among couples with distressed relationships. Additionally, the findings showed that the solution-focused therapy training method increased the psychological cohesion of couples with distressed relationships. Therefore, based on the research findings, it can be concluded that solution-focused therapy is an effective model for couples and can be utilized as one of the therapeutic or educational methods in treatment programs.
